2:57 PM, via the Canary Islands: Day 1.
Greetings
from the Canary Islands! Yesterday I didn't have
time to update the Blog as I was traveling
with the guys and wife to the islands. What a place!
Add the charming lifestyle of the Spaniards with
a vacation and holiday atmosphere of an island,
and you get life on the Canary Islands! There are
a few of them. As for which one --it does not
matter! The more adventrous, the better.
Life
is a bit laid back here. Well, let me correct
that. Life is a LOT LAID BACK. I went to the
store a bit after lunch time. Prime time to get
some groceries done. No luck. Just about every
place is close for the siesta period -about 1
PM to 3 PM local time everything is closed.
I've
spent less than a day on the island and feel
very much relaxed and in the mood to holiday.
The only trouble I had was the Internet access
with a laptop, as I don't use public computers
at all to access the various sites that I use
regularly. This is a very good security tip,
btw, (by-the-way) as the odds are pretty good
that a public computer at an Internet Cafe or
hotel will have some sort of virus or some other
pesky software recording key strokes or worse.
With
that challenge out of the way, the holiday returned.
Much
of the early day was with the kids and at the
beach. Then it's siesta time and now they are
resting and I am blogging.
The
most interesting part of my day was a conversation
with my wife about success and personal desire.
The collective "will" the "want" --what I can
summarize as the collective "MOTIVATION" behind
success.
The
conversation came about because we have two kids,
to guys, that can very quickly head in the wrong
direction with many things. We know that many
of the problems later in life are brought about
by the early education and molding that we'll
put them through now.
This
week I will present an entire conversation about
that as I continue from the beautiful Canary
Islands!
Now
you may wonder what I am doing while on vacation
writing and updating this blog. Isn't this work?
Nope. I have never considered the 'things' I
do work. They do not tire me, they do not really
grind me down. In fact, if wife and kids were
not there, I'd just keep plugging away on my
three projects 'til I am sleepy and then wake
up several hours later and do it again.
There
is a lot to talk about as I also made several
decisions between the time I was off on a walk
on the beach to the time I was in the shower.
The
ides kept flowing and all of them were noted
to discuss. So, without further delay let me
type then and talk about then!
Talk
to you later... Sam
