DAY 51

Update: Wednesday, 06-Apr-2005 11:02 AM : Canary Islands, DAY 6 update.

I started off my blog update around 2 or 3 hours ago, and 'poof' the entire thing vanished when I 'cancelled' a save window.

It was then time to take a Spanish siesta! The Spanards take a good nap after lunch. I don't know if they physically take such a nap now, but, all the shops and most office establishments seem to be closed from around 1 PM to 4 PM during the weekdays.

Anyway, when away from home, I try to do as the "locals do" and "go with the flow".

This is a good idea to keep in mind, as the old American 'mindset' urns to change things to a more logical, customer friendly way of doing things when abroad. It cannot be done in a week or month or a year. So, I just try to enjoy the place where I am and "go with the flow" -drive, dine and enjoy like the locals.

Anyway, Spain is very good to begin with. However, some of the former Spanish colonies have not faired that well.

Now back to some of my thoughts...

There were some site problems when I moved to my trusted laptop the "template" from Macromedia Dreamweaver. Therefore, the images are not showing. I aim to correct this error when I move the files back to my trusted office pc when I return from the Canary Islands.

On the same vain I decided not to make many corrections to the blog and waste my vacation time to perfecting what I am writing about.

You will find out that perfecting things will at time become a defeating trap that often just delays things. It's better to get something going with mistakes as oppose to trying to perfect it and just not getting it done, or worse, getting it done so late that it does not matter any more.

Thus, I have left date, time and page-naming mistakes in place and will deal with some of the linking problems with the images when I get back.

Now on to more important things!

The start up process of the project P31-STEP Financial Success Plan with 31 STEPS and the ideas behind it have evolved over time and they took on a new meaning each step of the way.

While here, after a conversation with my Wife, I realized another aspect of this I had left out. And that was the aspect of personal success.

I resolved that I needed to add that to make this the total success project that I envisioned.

Here is the reasoning:

I first aimed to build financial success with a 31-STEP process.

Soon after I got into building that process it was clear to me that in order to build a 31-STEP financial success process where I built a penny into over $10M, I needed to first build a business success of P31.com.

Then I revised the plan and worked on building the buiness success that I needed.

Building the business success that I needed took me into the processes of building traffic, optimizing the site to search engines, making the site friendlier to visitors and all that is involved with registering the site with search engines.

All of that effort paid off with Google bots visiting. Then more bots from other organizations started visiting, and I might add friquently.

Then I went about making a few features with income in mind for the project. The first was the sponsor idea, which you can see via the sponsor's link. Then it occured to me that I didn't have a low-end revenue generation method in place.

Just then the Google Ad Sense came to the rescue. Now you'll see a lot of the older pages with content having pages with advertising matched by Google to the writing and key words that are part of the pages.

Slowly the ENGINE is NOW gettting out of the station!

Now, going back to the success model, talking with my Wife, it occured to me that what I am after all is my PERSONAL SUCCESS.

So, I have once again, revised the objective, and now I am focusing on the personal success ideas that build business success.

Then here is the model and focus of the site that I have come to conclude:

Personal Success will lead to Business Success.

Then Business Success will lead to Financial Success.

Then Financial Success will lead to Personal Success.

I see this very much as a circle. A cycle. A cycle of life. A self improvement process that build "The 31-STEP Success Plan" where I am taking a penny and doubling it to reach $10M.

Reaching this point, what I call a "Point of Satisfaction", where I feel comfortable with what I am doing, the progress I am making and where I am headed --my overall vision, is now set.

Yes, it took over 50 days of blog updates.

Yes, it took over 6 months of work.

Yes, it took over 150 pages of text at P31.COM.

But, you know what, it is as I write this 100% comfortable. It is 100% what I had hoped for.

So, there you have it. It is a journey. It is a STEP by STEP plan. It does not happen over night.

It took a lot of focus. A lot of errors. A lot of thinking. But, now I am there.

Where next? Keep visiting. Keep reading and you shall see. I do have a "sketch of a plan" but I have yet to fill in the details.

I remember as a student talking about my dreams with my father. He once said that I am merely "building castles in the air" and dismissed my ideas.

I later read that there is "no problem building castles in the air", just make sure to follow up and setup the foundations.

The 31-STEP Success Plan is doing just that. The foundation is getting built step by step, in front of your eyes.

Well, my nearly two year old is testing his limitation, regadless of location. That means that I am glad the day is over and he's sleeping. Furthermore, I am glad the kid is alive. What I beating I am taking on this.

The kids got a mind and limbs and there is no relation how the two seem to work. Each time however, there is a near disaster, and from some 'grace of God' life goes on.

Hope I'll make it thru. The 31-STEP Sucess Plan seems like a piece of cake compared to watching a 2-year old.

But, kids have these built in looks, actions and mannors that force me to forgive 99% of their prior actions for a moment of laughter.

This must be part of the master plan of the wacky creater that makes us go through this process over and over.

Ok, now back to my thoughts on the blog and where things are headed.

Looking back at the earlier today, I think I have done that. Not much more to say.

Tomorrow I am attempting a long hick, up and down a mountain. The last time I did this was at Los Del Torres, in southern Chile. I ended up doing a 12 hour trek in 8 hours and then paid the price for it. I remember the ordeal well because it was my oldest son's birthday, and I was trying to make it back for birthday cake.

I sure did make it back. However, for the next day or so I laid flat on my back, partially exhausted.

I hope I don't repeat it. Anyway, I hope to hike about 10 to 12 KM tomorrow and may not make it to the blog. Hope I MAKE it period!

Anyway, I have also decided to carry a small notebook and will talk about it next time as well.

Got to go. My oldest is saying that the laptop is keeping him awake again. IF I had a dollar for every excuse that he had used not to go to sleep, I would have made it to STEP 20 something by now!
