DAY #183 -- Launch: T-26 Days!

UPDATE Wednesday, 07-Dec-2005 10:23 AM

I got up this AM around 6, and it was a quick trip down the stairs to my home office. No commute today. I actually get more things done while at home for one reason: FOCUS. The place where I am writing to you from is 100% customized to my "comfort and view" and not made for an office setup. This is where I get a lot of things done.

Anyway, I came down, got some coffee and pondered for a while about Mr. P. K. from a Rocky Mountain State. He last week offered to invest $1,000 dollars that he had into the business --The Maxsimo Network --that he had just started. I said "no". Instead I told him how to build more equity. But, that got me thinking about the enormous trust that P.K. has placed on *me*.

I have never met P. K. I have never chatted with P. K. I haven't even spoken to P. K. I have only emailed with him, numerous times. In that capacity I have known him for less than a month. In one email, I believe before Thanksgiving he said to me that he's looking "forward to a great 2006". Actually, several people have told me that --both at the office and online.

Now, here I am in the AM, and all this email is scrolling past me. I scanned the subjects and deleted all of them that had nothing to with the Maxsimo Network and IR/Member materials.

I then had a CLEAN SLATE. I was fresh even before a drop of coffee hit my lips. Then I proceeded to write down exactly what it is that P.K. and I have been working on. He's helping me build and manage a mailing list. And I am helping him "build his business" --research, applying what works, dissecting what does not. AND following "thru" --Not just talking and making plans, but also doing it.

It's like a swing of a bat or the motion of a tennis racket or a golf club --Most people don't realize that the "action" after the contact with the ball is just as important as before contact! Back to the discussion...

Last night, I worked about an hour on setting up a popup email subscriber box on this site. But it did not work. At this time there remains 2 obligations on my part to P. K. ONE: To complete the subscriber box. TWO: To make this the best "damn" Network that it can be. The better I make it, the more fulfilling will be his life and more rewarding his journey. Note, I didn't say life would be "easy" -- I don't believe in that.

Now, that went on to another thought: Is this my life? Do I enjoy it? You bet. I love it. I look forward to a day when I meet P.K., perhaps, at one of my favorite places in this world, STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, CO, where I have skied several times and present a toast: To a job done. Very well done. Then I will feel satisfied.

Now on to what I need to do for P. K. this AM. I've got to finish the subscriber box. But that keep's presenting a "mental block". I don't like blocks. I especially don't like MENTAL BLOCKS --Those are the worst!

I keep in memory that idea of rescue dogs, especially those that look for survivors after an earthquake. The handlers of these dogs play a game at the end of the day with the dog. What they do is hold an article of clothing from a live person, who just happens to be hiding around the corner. The dog 'sniffs' the article of clothing and then proceeds to find the person several seconds later.

Then the dog is very happy and the handler and dog share a great moment before they call it a day. This is very special because the dog may have spent 8 or even 10 hours during the day and found only the smell of death or body parts.

Then at the end of the day, the CHEMICALS in the brain (for the life of me I cannot remember what that's called now) are RESET. It's rejuvenated to the POSITIVE and dog and handler go to dinner or sleep or just rest.

I do about the same. No, not sniffing around the work place! At the end of the day I try to work on a small task, an easy task, a task that I know I can complete. A task that "RESETS" my brain and energizes my capacities, all the while reassuring me that anything can be accomplished.

I also do that in the AM. It is no accident that I start out with this blog most of the time. I learned very early on that instead of being lost to what to do the first thing in the AM, I just need to write my thoughts here, and then the day "flows" along. Just like a coffee, just like a cup of tea or a walk to drop the kids at school or back to work, I get "ENERGIZED". I get warmed up from within. I get time to think about P. K. and making sure that his 2006 is the best ever year that he has had, and have him look forward to the next 40 some years or more...

To me this is enormous responsibility and that then leads to my article for the day. It's a "song" written for P. K. at the foothill of a mountain. Poetry it's not - A timeless message it is.

HOW MANY "WINDOWS" DOES it TAKE to BUILD SUCCESS ONLINE?
by Webmaster*SAM

Dear Entrepreneur, Webmaster,

How may "windows" does it take to build success online? It's a question that you may have no answer for because you simply don't understand the question.

By "windows" I mean open content, browser windows, screens, etc. How many programs are running? Mail -check YES, Chat --check YES, IE or FireFOX --check YES. Instance: 4 IE sessions? 5? more? Other software? Cell phone ON? --check YES.

Before you know it you are wired and plugged into the world like at no time in history. You are connected. You are "ON".

But is that a good thing? Is that one of the building blocks of success? Odds say "NO". History says "NO".

As the rules of success, a timeless philosophy that has worked for eons will tell you being connected and aware of everything is a recipe for disaster.

THE IDEAL WORK PLACE:
The building block of online success is a clean one. One that has turned "OFF" just about everything. With the phone, email, chat, countless programs, office clutter away, there is one "zen" feeling left: FOCUS.

When you attain this state, done thru countless days of practice, perseverance and sometimes great errors, you will know.

You will know that you can sit down at your workstation and complete anything in a timely manner and walk away satisfied that "the job was done".

In an online world with instant information and contact the true actions needed for building success (apart from knowledge) remain the same. Seeking knowledge is something that you can do at the right time, in the course of every day. You have to in order to succeed. However, a majority of the time you need to FOCUS on the job at hand and the tasks that needs to get finished.

Practice this time and time, and you'll see that every task, in every business or work will get completed, on time and with great enthusiasm. And fatigue? What is that?

So, the question begs: How many "windows" does it take to build success on the Internet? Exactly ONE --yesterday, today and tomorrow and always, it takes one. When you look at your monitor have one window open, just one application running, just one task to be completed, and you know what: that task *will* get done.

Your focus, your determination, your resolve to complete something depends on it. Practice your FOCUS and you'll see all the "blocks" tumbling down at your feet. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY success will NOT be as far away as at the end of a tunnel. It will be much closer --within grasp, just at your reach!

Success,
Webmaster*SAM

------------End of Thought:

Now I've got to go. The message is said. The task is done. Now I need to practice. Sam will be back with what I hope is GREAT NEWS tomorrow! Success today. OUT...
