DAY #189 -- Launch: T-20 Days!
UPDATE: Tuesday, 13-Dec-2005 11:43 AM
With 20 days to go, before launch, I finally have some good news. Last Friday ended with my relationship with AD Watcher getting nixed. I didn't like where things were headed, and it was time to "cut the cord" and switch to plan "B", which was to work with another programming group and use their product to help the Members/IR's.
On Monday I got the "go ahead" for their ROI Tracking PRO product. Now it will be downloadable for the Member's and IR's to setup to track the effectiveness of adverting.
Perhaps, this is the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT aspect of online success. Only with advertising can you reach your audience. AND only with effective adverting can one "insure" their success.
The ROI Tracking PRO program will go a long way towards that goal.
The next addition is "G" Mike's learning series that he has sold for $189.00 in the past. Now he's selling it for around $49.95 and thru the Membership everyone will be able to download it!
I am very excited about this event and "G" Mike is very well known online and his endorsement and his working with the Maxsimo Network aides greatly in our credibility and growth.
I am very happy that prior to launch we have his resources available to our Members.
Lastly, my third item is the Affiliate*MINT, which I hope to debut this week. However, what I'd better do is debut what I *have* and not wait to make a BIG SPLASH!
The more I intro the better, so, first I'll set up a resources, and then send an email with an introduction. Then I'll work on the next.
So, for this week, the main objectives are:
A> Introduction of the ROI Tracker Pro Program.
B> Introduction of the "G" Mike Online Success course.
C> Introduction of Affiliate*MINT.
I need to update the Member areas with the above links and resources. I think I can get that done by Wednesday, and introduce to everyone that it is available by Thursday.
Now on to some things that I wrote down in my pocket notebook over the weekend.
From my weekend notes: Two questions to ponder.
1.> Why do customers come in groups? While at my "hardware store".
I have talked about it a bit, but I enjoy working with wood. Earlier in my blog I talked about the book and desk that I built in my home office. For more than 20 years I have had a 'home office' and in each of these places, I had my own table that I made. Now I have the best one so far, after so many years. I often wonder why I want to go to the office?
Over the weekend I was at the local wood shop getting some cuts done, since I don't have a full size table saw. I was watching the flow of customer at the shop. They seem to come in waves, as if there was a beacon at the door saying or flashing "come in now" and a mass of people thought "I have to go there". I was watching this occur over the hour or so I was there. Perhaps, once or twice a lone person walked in. However, most of the time, there were several people walking in over a minute and they'd all line up at the cash register to check out as well.
Why does it happen like this? Group behavior? I am sure there is some web site dedicated to this subject! Anyway, I think people like group behavior and that also shows online. I have been working away writing this blog for a year and a quarter and now the traffic is starting to do something. Group behavior is taking over. The buzz is getting around. The connections being made.
So, the question beckons -why doesn't everyone get to this point? Two reason. 1. They quit too soon. 2. There needs to be a unique position for everyone to visit in the first place. ITEM ONE: I have addressed extensively in the blog and on this site. The only failure I know is one who quits. One who stops. Everyone else, who keeps striving, who keeps marching, who keeps forging ahead is a success.
Then comes a unique position. I call it a dinner and a walk syndrome. There have been countless times around the world that my wife and I have taken to a walk to find a good restaurant to eat at. Often I find myself at night walking down a street looking for a place to eat. Then I end up at some eatery, usually a busy one. I don't like to go and eat at places that are not so busy. Busy ones have more food, more turnover, the locals like it, and there must be a reason. So, I tend to go to ones that are 'alive' and a bit crowded, as long as the wait is not too bad.
The point is this: IF you are running a restaurant a bit away from the usual path, walk or street, HOW will you get my attention to visit you restaurant? This is such an important question, that I'll dedicate two days to it. Tomorrow I'll talk about HORIZONTAL PANTS!
Anyway, you are off the beaten path, you need to get my attention, so that I turn to my wife and say "Hon, let's check that place out!"
What is your unique position that will do that? Now I was asking the same question when I started this blog. AND MY argument at that time was "It does not matter" --just keep talking and that unique position, that insanely"unique" idea will come to you. And guess what --It has. But, it did even without me knowing it. I think people are coming to the site by accident, in most cases, via search engines. Then they find the very idea a bit intriguing and then they remember the site name and come back.
So far I have never really told anyone the site's name just like that. I make them search for it and find out. Only this month I started to tell GOLD and higher IR's about it because I also want them to build their own success step by step.
So, the importance of a "UNIQUE POSTIONS" is VITAL. It is what makes me turn up the hill a bit and come and eat at *YOUR DINNER* or at "MARYS CAFE" or somewhere. It is what makes me move.
I'll talk more about his tomorrow, as I am getting long winded now and I want to get a lot of my work for Wednesday and Thursday done today.
I'll leave with this thought:
2.> Why are pancakes easier to make when the temperature is perfect?
Last Sunday, I got up a bit late and didn't find breakfast ready, so I went about making pancakes. The first few were a bit of a mess, until I got the temperature just right. Then it was a matter of just "cranking them all out", which I proceeded to do in a few minutes. During that time I was wondering about the Maxsimo Network IR's who seem to go "COLD" at this time. I don't mind, but now my effort is to SET the TEMPERATURE just RIGHT! I am sure that I can help them to get going very nicely when our resources are moving along.
Which I see happening this week!
Now aside from the pancake story, I spent a bit of time today with a former German that I know. I spent a lot of time on the phone with him because I wanted him to work on the logo, brochure and just about every item that will get produced with our "M" (Maxsimo) logo on it. I picked him because I think he'll produce the best material for the company. I also had proposed the idea a long time ago, but never went beyond that because I was not happy with the quality of our programming. Now I am and things are moving forward rapidly, so I wanted to intro what could be done and see what he had to say.
During our hour long conversation, he said something that was rather shocking and something that I explored when I started sharing my thoughts here. The idea he mentioned and what he said was "most Germans are very pessimistic" and partly he said he moved because he wanted to get away from that.
So, this comment got me thinking: IF Germany, with their innovation, industrial might and social welfare system has led to a population that is "pessimistic", where exactly is *our* boat headed?
To that I have a very promising and bold answer: Our own boat is headed "ANY WHERE you want it" -- I say this because I know first hand that had I not started my discussion, on day one, and done it the way that I have, then I would never (*NEVER*) would have understood, nor would I have ever been able to explain some of the predicaments that I was in. Never.
However, by starting the process. By looking at life, day by day --the success and failures, I have not come to a "pessimistic" summary. On the contrary, I have settled into a very optimistic, a very challenging and a very rewarding future. One that I look forward to daily, as I sit down and write to you.
May success be with you. Carpe Diem, Webmaster*SAM. And thanks to Mr. XGerman.
