DAY # 203 -- Launch: T-06 Days!
UPDATE: Tuesday, 27-Dec-2005 9:16 PM
Today I spent some time thinking about the tasks that I have to complete in the New Year. Several months ago I talked about one of my problems, and that often is taking on too many tasks.
Just today I realized that I have added the task of working on an aquarium and documenting the entire task to essentially create a White Paper. Well, that is a good idea. However, working on an aquarium during my tight schedule may allow me to focus on something else, but it still does not permit me to complete other tasks that I am burdened with. For example, I have yet to update the business credit building site.
So, why not document the business credit building site? Why not use that as the example for the White Paper?
At the time I decided on the aquarium to share with IR's my ideas on showing a process and linking a quickly built site to many aquarium links that were the best aquarium sites was a good idea. However, looking over the past month and the amount of time that I have lost to sickness and trying to do all this has been rather grueling.
I think I need to make decisions during my most difficult time --not when time is plenty and things are rolling along nicely.
NEW YEAR IDEAS:
I see myself updating the penny 31 sites much more often than I did in 2005. In fact, I would not be surprised if I update the site about 300 times. That also gives me an idea with each update --I want to update/upgrade ONE ELEMENT with each update.
It might be something as simple as fixing one text element or updating the list of resources. The bottom line is that with each update I'll have to also update the several areas that I have put a priority. I think taking care of the site in this fashion will give me a fresher approach to getting things done. I have been bloggin away, but the problem is that I know I have left several parts of the site untouched since I created the area.
This is not a good way to build a successful business success site.
WRITING THINGS DOWN:
Over the past months --November and December --I haven't had the time to check over my To Do List. I've just had time to keep moving and getting whatever that needed getting done, done. I have done relatively well that way.
However, I need to move back to the original "task master" system and write down everything that I am doing. I sort of have by talking about them here, but that does not really hammer things into me. Writing them down and having them 'in front of my face' on a daily basis drives the ideas in.
Once again, I need to go over the list and remove what has gotten done, update the To Do List and then get the new task list ready.
I suppose what I am doing goes for everything that I am doing. It's true for the site. It's true for all the writing I have done for members. It's also true for my life personally. Everything has to be taken into consideration and I need to go over everything that I do and make sure that I am doing it well, and then I need to look for ways to improve on it.
ONE INTERESTING NOTE:
Even without thinking of doing what I described above, I have already started the very items that I thought of doing for the New Year. This fact is very interesting, because I have noticed lately that I am well ahead of tasks. Just last year I was the type of person that waited until the 11th hour to get something done.
However, with my blog perhaps one of the most important improvements to my life is this: Getting things done in a respectable manner. I have gotten better and better at it. Sure there are situations that end up taking a lot more time than I had planned for, but I am doing a lot better than I did a few years ago.
On this site I have gone over several areas of interest and kept updating those parts. Just today I added a "POOL" link in the DREAM HOME area. The pool is not your typical pool --it's an infinite pool. You'll have to take a look at what that means via the dream home link.
ANOTHER LONG DAY:
I've had another non-typical day having to wear a lot of hats and still nowhere near getting the tasks done for the Monday, the 1st of January 2006 launch of the Maxsimo Network.
I still have to work on some explanations and make sure that the database holding all the information will keep going. I will then be ready to hand over the project to the programmers that will take care of the database optimization.
However, having said that it's been a very rewarding day. Now I've got to enjoy what left of it and relax a bit. Carpe Diem, Sam.
