DAY 110
UPDATE:
Friday, 24-Jun-2005 9:55 AM
Well, that too got "axed". I ended up working
'til 6 AM and then got 2 hours of sleep. I am
having a problem with one programmer, who has
consistentantly delivered work late, and now
is trying to "work out of what he said he would
do".
Basically,
work has not been finished, and now nearly
2 months late. Pay has been made,
timely and fully. Although, when such work
is done, it's hard to calculate an honest pay.
However,
IF I say "I cannot pay your until the work
is delivered", then I don't get the work done
period.
So, for several weeks, since I got to know
the "state of affairs", I have walked a fine
line.
In
the end, there is NO escape for the Associate.
Why? Becasue he said "I'll do the tasks". Then
(this was back in March 05) I counted on what
he'd do, for the success of everyone, and now
to tell me that it cannot be done. Well, better
not say it to me. I am not that type of person
to confront with such words.
The bottom line is this: Better get it done.
Otherwise, life will get ugly. I will work with
anyone, under any circumstance, but IF you don't
deal with me "squarly" and "ethically" then life
will not be good.
So,
I "drew the line in the sand" and held it at
6:AM and made sure that the position was understood.
There is ONLY ONE resolution to the issue: Finish
the work.
Now I have to follow thru and make sure what
was said now will get done. I pointed out that
once I was told a false statement. A second time
again, a false statement, and now I have to believe
the individual once again.
So,
I took some defensive measures to make sure
that I got the point across and now I am going
to make sure that the work gets done, and is
done right and will keep working until it's done
right.
Time to move on... Many updates here. Such is
life. I still hope to have a great Friday. And
I am going to do my best to make sure that I
go back to normal working hours.
What to do here? Gotta do what you've gotta
do -Otherwise, life get ugly!!! OK, out for now.
Sam.
Update: Friday,
24-Jun-2005 1:34 AM
Today
I am taking a walk. That's all for my update.
Hope you'll have a great weekend. Later, Sam.
Above
was what I wrote earlier. A bit of change in
plans. I'll bike. I don't have the time that
I thought I'd have and family will be at home
all day.
My
entire work routine, from the staff that I
work with
to
the way
I am
working has gotten out of hand. I seem to
be working around the clock and nearly every
day.
Something
has to stop, and tonight I decided this would
be it. I just finished reading a nice book.
So, I am up late.
But,
for work, I'll have to stop the routine and
find another way to
do things. I'll talk about this over the
coming days as I go to more "normal" hours
and spend
more time with my family.
That
is it for today... Hope you have a good weekend.
Sam out.
The
rest of this update is from earlier yesterday..
Update: Thursday,
23-Jun-2005 1:37 PM
This
is the OPT IN MAX Ezine Press Release.
FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RE: Deployment of OPT IN Max Ezine Subscriber at the Maxismo.com Network of
Applications
24th of JUNE 2005
http://www.maxsimo.com
The
OPT IN MAX Ezine Subscriber tool is a virally
duplicating display that shows viewers the
electronic magazines (ezines) available for
subscription.
Then
it enables the user to enter their name and
email address, and sends the user an email
to confirm the subscription.
Once
optinmax has confirmed the subscription, the
system sends an email to the owner of the ezine
with a receipt that a new subscribers has joined
the mailing list.
That
is not the end of the story. The number of
ezines the system advertises is twelve. And
the number of instances of duplication is enormous.
Let us say that you put the system to work
on your web site.
Then
another online marketer took the tool and put
it on his or her web site. The result is that
your ezine information is now displayed on
their site. In the end your ezine publication
can be on hundreds of thousands of sites all
over the Internet.
That
is the power of optinmax. It gives every user
the potential to display their ezine information
on thousands, if not hundreds of thousands
of web pages throughout the Internet!
THE IMPORTANCE of USING OPT-IN MAX Ezine Subscriber:
Perhaps,
next to a good web site, the most important
tool to convey information to the Internet
community is via a mailing list.
I
personally read about 6 or 7 on a weekly basis,
some of them on a daily basis, often scanning
the email and stopping at a few points.
More
often I buy products and services that are
advertised on the mailing lists as well.
How
else do I get to know about the latest, greatest
products and services on the Internet? The
best way is by reading mailing lists with information
that I am looking for. In the same context
there must be millions of mailing lists that
are dedicated to any given subject, just like
the web sites out there.
The
importance of such a list, regardless of the
size, relates to the subscriber. The subscriber
is the "KING" or "QUEEN" of
the show and having them come to your site
as a visitor is a privilege. Then having the
visitor subscribe to your mailing list is an
honor.
The
reason is that the visitor may not buy anything
from your site for any given reason for months.
However, will that visitor remember your site
in a month or two? Will the visitor remember
your product or service in a month or two?
They may.
However,
by mailing to the new subscriber on a weekly
or monthly basis your new information about
the subject that your web page covers, you
will convey the essential facts about the topic
and inform the user.
While
doing that, time after time, you'll find out
that trust and dependability is built for the
site that you are building. And when that is
done, your subscriber is much more likely to
keep working with you and keep using your site
to gain further information about what ever
topic that interests you.
Then
the subscribers of your mailing list are much
more likely to be the buyers of the products
and services that you are selling or recommending.
Having
a mailing list is a MUST. Having a sure fire
way to get new subscribers is GOLD!

UPDATE:
Thursday, 23-Jun-2005 2:47 PM
It's
been a rough and tough week, mostly because
the programming work is running behind.
But
nothing can be done about it other than to
press on... with myself and the programmers
who I need to make sure at every step are doing
the right thing.
It's
not easy, but making sure now and testing later
avoids a lot of problems.
UPDATE: Thursday, 23-Jun-2005 10:11 PM
One of the items that I have forgotten to update
here was the stock items.
I have been "out of the market" most of the
year, except for some options.
The
latest options were purchase on Apple, and
they went down. The lot was very small and
expires
in October. So, I held it. Then it bottomed out
at $1.55 and now it's back. I have purchased
a lot more in the range of $2.00 and +/- $0.25
cents. And now I have stopped, as the options
are going up. Today, in spite of the oil-based
sell off Apple is up. I see it going up.
That also leads me to LNG options that I sold,
actually the day I left on my last trip. They
were sold automatically while I was flying. However,
that too had a problem. Not all the options were
sold as there was a liquidity problem as the
options I purchased did not have enough buyers
and not all the options were "closed out" --however,
in the end there was a very nice return.
Now I am looking for other options and will
keep doing so until mid to the end of July when
I see the market going up again.
I'll keep you posted, as always.
That's
all now. Short post tomorrow, as I will be
out on a walk. Sam out.
