DAY 39 UPDATE: Tuesday, 22-Mar-2005 4:24 PM
Hello again!
I've spent about 6 hrs. correcting a mess that I didn't start correctly at the blog index of days.
Originally, I setup and organized it based on weeks. Then the writing per week skyrocketed. The 'week' got too long to display.
Then I went back and corrected it to look like the page here.
Looks better. The NEW directory is here.
Enough said for today. I've put in way too much time than I have. Out for now.
Update: Tuesday, 22-Mar-2005 8:42 PM
Another day went fast. Very fast. Got a lot done. From my task list I think all items are done, and now what is left is optimization and more "pencil to paper" type of tasks like the press releases.
As I visit many of the pages the Google Ad Sense ads are starting to 'flood in' where there is content.
Since the ads are based on the content it's very interesting to read the ads and visit the merchants behind them. I have found a good product or two that way, and will continue to investigate resources that will benefit readers through this channel.
The Google bot also keeps visiting as they are cataloging the site.
I have also added the Google search feature to take advantage of Google updating and cataloging the site. It may take as long as a week for the Google bot to get it's job done.
If you are familiar with "bots", these are special programs that are residing on servers, for example, in Google's case they have well over 12,000 servers (yes, 12K) servers running Linux and their own proprietary programs. Several of them catalog the Internet pages for different reason. Two types have visited this site. Once after a registration. Although that took many months. The other after I signed up for Ad Sense.
Anyway, the frequency increases and more and more pages are now searchable, and nearly all of them serve ads. The pages that don't will soon, when I put some content on them.
Once again, the objective of the Google Ad Sense ads was to cover the lower end of revenue generation. However, just getting $300.00 from Google's Ad Sense will take 1000's, if not TENS of THOUSANDS of visitors who click on the ads within P31.COM.
And lets say 3000 CLICK THRU's are needed to get $300.00, then that might take 60,000 visitors. Suppose 60,000 is a months worth of visitors (@ 2,000) per day, then the site is earning ONLY $300 per month.
Not good. So, clearly I will have to do a lot more revenue generating projects and quickly create a "buzz" about the project to get visitor interest. Once again, I'm down to the press releases.
I cannot tell how many visitors and how many click thru's will come at this time.
I'll have to wait and see a few months. But, again, it's a good revenue generation system and although it's not overnight, it does not take much time to setup and then does it's work without my intervention.
I might add that it does its work rather nicely!
Tomorrow also serves the 40th day of updates. I have been at it since Sept. 04, but only 40 days of updates have been done. It seems like a lot more, but 40 days does NOT translate into 80 hours as I had predicted. It has taken more like 120 hours so far as I put in time on weekends and after dinner to get things done.
No problem.
In order to proceed the STEPS it will take a lot more work and I am committed.
Another scary fact is that the site now has over 115 pages. At this rate I will hit the 650 to 750 pages that I predicted that I'd have by the end of the year!
The challenge is to have good content that readers can use to build their own Financial Success Steps. I think I am doing that via the Resources Review area.
Good things take time and ROME was not built in a day. I'll thus keep at it 'til the dust settles. This is clearly a "work in progress"!
Once again, it has been a very long day. I'll continue tomorrow on the tasks at hand and cover some of the resources I have collected. OUT!
