DAY
44
UPDATE: Monday, 28-Mar-2005
7:42 PM
I
spent a bit of the day during lunch investigating
the best back up software. I have a wireless
network running and pc/macs are part of the
network and they need a better backup solution.
I currently use hard drives for backup, but
if something like a breakin (robbery), fire
or worse occures, a life-time of pictures and
work will be lost. Most of what I care about
are on servers, but, I know one thing that
will cause a "grown man to cry" and losing
a pc full of data is one of them.
My
research will continue as I am sure a few hardware
vendors will intro a wireless network and backup
device around the $400 to $500 dollar range
that will do what I want done, including:
5.
Good price. I'll need one and several others
to deplay amount the staff.
So,
the decision effects many and I need to make
a good one. I'll post the challenges and decisions
on this in the "HARDWARE" area when I have
the 'ultimate' solution. Any recommendation
are welcome via the forum!
In
other news I made a lot of progress during
the weekend and today on the press releases.
I
spent a lot of time using the advice in the
article that is pointed at below and the advice
of PRWEB(TM) that is reviewed in the index
area of the press releases.
I
started using article
here to craft the press releases. There will
be a total of seven press releases that I'll be
writing for three projects. This I found out is
not the easiest task, but the resources that are
pointed to in the index have some examples and
good advise to get the process started and finish
it.
Take
a look at the press release article (resouce
1) and you'll even see a template that can
be used to organize the press release. The template
can be seen from here.
I
also took the time to read the info by PR
Web(TM) They have a very informative site
when it comes to press releases in general
and it can be a very good resource for your
needs, especially if you are planning on releasing
several press releases on an annual basis.
Lastly,
PR Web(TM)
has a system of delivering FREE
press releases, but I will hold to examine
and use that...
I think I'll wait about one more
month to execute
my PR strategy. It's a bit too
early now.
All
this work --about 20 hrs in the last few day
on the P31-STEP Financial Success Plan --led
me to think about another item that I need
to consider carefully. What are the priority
projects that I need to focus my time on?
The
P31.COM site is not it. I have two other projects
that I have invested much more time and energy
setting up and deploying. And my expectation
is that they will also return back the investment
in much grander proportions.
Anyway,
that led to my thought that I am once again
spending a bit too much time sharing my thoughts
and updating this site. Then I took a long
break and now I feel that I always work in
WAVES, where work items are completed on
a basis of priority mostly, but also what I
feel
comfortable working with. And in the past
few days I have had a ball taking care of the
needs
of the 31-STEP Financial Success Plan, and
I think I'll continue to do so.
The
time needs for site optimization, press releases,
etc. and even this update are demaning. BUT,
it is very rewarding as well, as there is a
lot to learn and test without going forward.
Just
like that the day came to an end, and I must
call it quits. Back tomorrow. Sam
