DAY 45

Are the days going fast! Today I barely got done typing one thing and the day was over. Most of my day was spent updating the Maxsimo Card seller signup pages.

I think millions of people from all over the world will see the pages and I need to make sure that most of the visitors will understand the concept and the importance of the project.

After that dinner and I am back again for some fun. Yes, and to do that I did the following:

I searched "Business Success" and "Financial Success" -- These are the two key word phrases that I am focusing on in the site.

Between the two there are about 50 million searches done each month on Google and 5 other search engines. If I could just get 0.001% or so of that traffic to come my way every day? Humm... If I could.

Well who knows. Let me give it a shot. Why not!

Here is what I did:
- I search the two terms >Business Success and Financial Success
- Then I visited three of the top six or so search results. Why six? Just happened to like that number looking at the screen. That was it.
- Then I copied the sites to my local HD (hard drive).
- Then I opened the sites on a text reader. You can just use MS Notepad or something like that.
- Next I spent an hour or so dissecting WHY the search engine picked them.
- Then I am looking at my content and comparing the terms found in the META tags

My next step is to write a few rules down and use the same type of META tags to update each of my pages. Yes, I know... All 150 pages. I will take a month.

However, I know that the effort will pay off. I know. Why? Because of Leadership. My goal is to make this the "best damn site to help people achieve business success and then 'morph' that success into financial success' --that is what this site is all about.

Now, if you remember the way I started in Sept 27, 04, that was not my objective. Then slowly, I started carving out a niche. The reason I mention this now is to "pound into your head the importance of JUST STARTING. You may already have a dream, you may already have that idea. However, often starting is the hardest part. However, once you start, you can incrementally improve. If the weakness is you, then you can improve yourself. If the weakness is your idea, you can keep making your idea better. Remember, ROME was not built in a DAY!

Ok, now back to my plan. I'll keep updating my pages -perhaps, about 10 a day until all of them have key words, descriptions and META tags done.

All this work will payoff in two ways: First the Google AD sense will be able to better deliver ads that are targeted to the content of the pages.

Secondly, I will get more "natural search" traffic. This is search engine traffic that will search key words that are part of the this site and will end up in the pages that are around here.

The result is that I'll get a lot of FREE traffic my way. One the companies that I studied has a story written in the business paper that I read, and they had around 200 visitors per day at their site and about one order filled daily. Now they have 10,000 visitors days and several orders for their product daily. I don't need 10,000 visitors a day to make this site successful. But, that is what I'll try for.

Reach for the stars. Perhaps, you'll land for the moon. I forgot which astronaut said that. I believe he was in one of the five moon landers!

Ok, now back to my task and it's getting late. All things are progressing 100% and I am delighted. I have some travel plans and in the midst of all this progress my wife has booked a vacation. So, I have a bit of a change in 'location' but the ideas will keep flowing as I like to take long walks while away and the thoughts drift mainly among what I am doing.

No problem. I'll keep at it. So, back to the tasks. I'll file a better report about the progress later in the week. Out for now. Sam.
