DAY
47, the last day of March!
UPDATE: Wednesday,
30-Mar-2005 11:11 PM
Still
Wednesday, but I haven't been able to get anything
done... So, while I am sitting around and not
being productive, I'll do what I often do: Dream
away by using numbers. Sometime the dreams are
not good, but here I go.
I
ran into a site that talked about Google Ad Sense,
the publishing system that pays webmasters to
display ads as I am doing. The site talked about
earning an average of $0.20 (twenty cents) per
click thru. I think that's high. That can add
up to a lot, but I doubt I'd get twenty cents
per click thru. So, let me adjust that to just
FIVE CENTS. Now lets make an assumption that
one in twenty visitors will click out of the
site thru such an ad.
When
I get 100 visitors to the site, 5 of them will
exit the site using a Google Ad Sense ad displayed
mostly on the right of the text. OK, having said
that, then per 100 visitors the site would earn
5 X 0.05 cents or just $0.25 cents per 100 visitors.
The
table would look like this then:
100
= 5 = $0.25
1,000 = 50 = 2.50
10,000 = 500 = $25.00
Ok,
doing a conservative income calculation I can
expect the above and not much more than that.
I
don't think that's too bad because my objective
with Google Ad Sense was to occupy the bottom
end of the income generation picture. Not the
high end. Other sites may be able to do that,
but I am not counting on it here.
Then
the summary is that it will take a good combination
of several actions to get to a reasonable level
of revenue.
Note
left over from last night ended here......
At
this time ( Thursday, 31-Mar-2005
12:18 PM )
Just like that it's the end of the
month. Already one fourth of the year is gone!
But, did I get a lot done!
The
forum is done. The site has a new look. Tons
of pages were added. Google Ad Sense
was added. A banner management system was added.
I got the press releases started. I got a lot of
reviews done. All in all, it was a VERY productive
month. Traffic took a huge boost. The site registrations
done months ago seem to be working. BOTs from
a lot of search engines are visiting. The Google
BOT is visiting regularly.
Yes!
A sigh and stretch of the neck and lets look
at April 05!
April
leaves me with these tasks to finish and implement:
1.
Finish site optimization with KEY WORDS.
2.
Finish site registration with lots of search
engines.
3.
Finish the press releases and get them out to
the media.
4.
Finish more reviews.
5.
Keep going!
I
think that about does it. Great! I still have
a lot more but it's not a "march" type march.
It's more like a cruise along and get the stuff
done. In March I rushed!
Next
week I am going to seriously consider ONE MORE
ITEM: A budget. Since I have a BUSINESS PLAN
and FOCUS on the clear objectives, I am going
to strongly consider an infusion of capital to
energize the traffic coming to the site.
Anyway,
that is a consideration, but again, I'll have
to see what I can get done with just the idea
as oppose to sticking money into it. As of now
I have not paid anything to do what I am doing,
other than my time.
Ok,
that does it. Perhaps, more later.
Well
a bit later...Thursday, 31-Mar-2005 9:08 PM
Just
wanted to report that I don't have a real good
April Fools Day joke or prank to pull off.
I
suppose I didn't have much time to think about
it. Tomorrow I am off to a "remote location"
from where I will be directing thoughts and actions
for a few days.
Anyway,
the site was very busy this month. Traffic was
up 10 fold and site connectivity from my own
actions were up 100 times.
However,
the one visitor that impressed me the most was
Google BOT and Inktomi --both bots traveled the
site on the average twice a day!
I
have a lot to look forward to in April -another
overseas trip for my 'other' project and another
in May. However, I will make certain of my commitment
to keep up with the blog and site needs.
I
certainly proved that in March. I don't see any
reason to get several of the steps done either.
I
was about to say that's about it, but I didn't
mention anything about the stocks.
The
stock options on Occidental Petroleum calls are
doing 'ok' --nothing really hasn't not happened
there. However, the LNG options (can't even spell
the company name) are doing great. Up over 200%
already and I plan to hold them 'til the end
of April or a bit more. I know they will really
do well, as LNG has been falling for a while.
There
is a lot more discussion about the OPTIONS and
what will happen, but I'll leave that for a few
other days.
OK,
then OUT! Hope you had a great month of March.
SPRING is finally here! Flowers are out, and
I can feel the sun. Finally! I really look forward
to April. Tax month, but hope you too have a
great return coming. If that was the case, you
should have filed to get the average $2200.00
dollars back.
Speaking
about funds, that sounds like a great amount
to get your own financial success plan going.
Good
luck with that. I'll report on all the items
that will get done in April. Out then. Sam.
