DAY 84
UPDATE: Wednesday, 4:40 AM the 18th of May 2005
Well, it's still the same time and place as the previous day, and I wanted to take a moment to talk about a very important event in my life that I want to share with you.
The important event is this: For 15 years -since the start of my career working with the elements that I discuss here, I have for most of the time worked on a "catch up basis" -I had always been behind on my work. Perhaps, the problem was that I tried to do too much and in the end got little of it done.
Since I started writing this blog, and just a few months ago an interesting turn of events took place. The events that I describe are these: I am current in my work, and at times I am AHEAD!
Yes, even ahead and that is a great feeling!
This has been happening time and gain for the past few months, and it has made me very happy.
In fact, the most successful days of my past and even going into the college years, were days that were the busiest. I remember back in college, I had the best grades when I worked during the weekend, and had a second job or even when I worked on my projects.
I was so busy, I had to keep going and going and didn't have any time to waste.
Now the time are similar to that. I watch very little TV. I would say less than 1 hour per week. Perhaps, I didn't count a movie here and there. I watch perhaps about 50 movies a year with my wife and about 10 or so of those are with my kids. I must say I have seen NEMO about 20 times!
Anyway, the point is that my time if VERY IFFICIENTLY used and since I don't have much time to spear, I have had a sharp focus on the work at hand. All this is a great feeling.
BTW, while coming to the hotel from the airport, I was lucky enough to be with a private chauffer since I was the only one the tour company picked up at the airport.
I said to the driver that it was OK to take an alternate route as opposed to being stuck in the Colombo rush hour. So, we did and I got a chance to see the office crowd headed home. It was a bit sad looking at the faces of the people who seem to be endlessly waiting for the next bus. I have never seen a place with so many people were just endlessly waiting. Unbelievable.
Back to my thoughts... The very items that I felt needed to be "ELEVATED" are getting just that type of make over on a daily basis, and I think that is what is making me very happy.
Ok, it's nearly 5 AM and i am going to get my day started. I have a severe case of jet lag, but I know the only way to "get over it" is to force the routine and get the things going.
MOVE! JUST DO IT, NOW!
Ok, Sam out.
