DAY #148
UPDATE: Friday, 28-Oct-2005 10:42 AM
It's all about focus: Over the past few months, I've kept narrowing my focus and now I am confident about the position I am in.
My time now is spent updating http://www.maxsimo.net and putting up all the stock information. I may 'end this work' as well, IF the test that I am conducting is does not prove fruitful. Anyway, I'll make a decision on that by the end of the year.
Now to my focus: When I got started on this blog and project it was obvious to me that there is no place on the Internet to get guidance regarding revenue from affiliate programs --all income generating programs, services, applications, etc.
Every webmaster had to test and re-test --basically, take an educated 'guess' to what will work to generate revenue from his or her site. Then came the idea of setting up http://www.revenuecheck.com. However, in the process of setting it up I kept drifting in my thoughts about what exactly I would offer. Since I have to do the majority of work into the coming months, I better know for sure that I could do what I talked about at the site.
However, getting into all that I wanted to offer, I realized that there was no way that I could do all the work. There is no way I can maintain all the sites. Just looking at p31.com, I have gotten behind several times on my blogging. How would I manage to keep up with multiple web sites and content?
On top of that I have been lucky this year, thanks to a flat stock market that I have mostly stayed out of. So, I have had a bit more time to work on other things, but again, I kept getting into trouble trying to do more than I could.
That said, I have settled on the two exact things that I should be doing: Setting up a network, which I am doing via revenuecheck.com and getting off the ground the Maxsimo Card™.
Apart from that, I don't want to "experiment" with other projects and then get caught in a bind --lack of time and lack of quality.
When I do something, I want to do it right and make sure that I can enjoy the work that I am doing. And most of that enjoyment extends from watching things *grow* -- I love to watch things grow. I love to thus build things. That is what I have done for almost 20 years, since the mid 80's during my high-school years.
Now the focus has concentrated on making http://www.maxsimo.net a hot property. To do that I wrote a list of items and most of them are done. The lone exception is a press release. I'll work on that in the coming days and make a list of places to send it to. I need to mention one item: The press release is not exactly a "press release" it is more in the line of an ARTICLE. The topic of the article will most likely be "How to check the effectiveness of advertising" or how to judge "what will succeed on the Internet" --a topic like that.
On my task list, that is the sole launch item that I have. Of course, this does not include the regular content of the site at maxsimo.net.
Speaking of focus, I have also made several deletions to this site. I removed several pages that I knew I could not maintain. Then I removed the "mall" that I was building and replaced it with a script from CLICKBANK MALL, which is a digital products mall that I will put on many of the pages on this site.
I think in the long-term the Google ads will deliver several thousand in revenue, after I get several hundred thousand in visitors, which I believe can happen around the latter STEPS --around STEP 25, 26 or around 28 I think people in general will get interested. However, I think most of the fun is now and into the late teens and earlier twenties in the STEP building. But, in general that is how the world works --they don't stand beside you while the work is getting done. They come by *after* the work is done. Not a problem.
I can generate the results that I need from the thousands who come between now and then. Part of my approach to getting this done is to review a lot of products from CLICKBANK. The pages in this area are just the start for that.
Anyway, CLICKBANK has over 11,000 products that are digitally downloaded, and I'll keep making the MALL type interface on this site and a search system better and better to keep the visitors to this site happy.
Ok, I have a lot more items to discuss into the weekend. And I'll do that later today. Sam out for now. Hope you have a good weekend.
