DAY
136
Update: Saturday, 03-Sep-2005 2:40 PM
It's the start of another month ... It's been two long, very long months and that had very little to do with the summer heat.
I have talked a lot about failure --and in this situation I had to endure a large failure when I got maxsimo.com going with custom software.
Now I am going to re-do all the work, but by using off-the-shelf software that I can manage better and without the need for in-house staff.
There were a lot of lessons that I learned in the process. One of them being that I am too trusting of individuals and as such I'll get taken advantage of from time to time. That happened. I then spent a few days thinking about ways to "get even" but in the end decided that that's not my style. Secondly, perhaps the best way to "get even" is to succeed in the grand plan that I have and since it's all open for everyone to see, the individuals who now think they have gotten away with company assets and by not delivering the work that was assigned, will in the end see that their very short term thinking cost them a *lot* in stock in the company and future salary.
I know that will be the case, so I don't have to waste my precious time thinking about it anymore that I am doing at this time.
OK, now on to what I have to complete today... Much more data entry for www.businesscreditbuiding.com.
I have a lot of contacts that I have to enter into the "private" area of the site.
I'll return with a wrap up at the end of the day...
BTW, at one time I talked about a possible budget for this site and decided to peg it at $400.00. In the end I never did that. I wanted to use the money to advertise a product or service that I put together. However, I then spent time deciding on the sprit of what I was doing. The conclusion was that I needed to keep building WITHOUT any help, but by using my own ingenuity!
So, I am still at STEP 11, where I have 5 instances going with a total of $51.20 "in the bank".
It does occur to me now that even though I am not spending the funds on this site, I will need to spend some funds driving traffic to business credit building. So, once again, I will go about trying to drive traffic using organic methods --press releases, search engines, etc. However, without having to wait for all that to work, I will also "buy" some traffic to come to the business credit building site.
Now, IF all that is not enough, I have taken the following steps:
1. I plan to use the biig.com domain to host the SHORT URL that tracks clicks from various ad programs.
2. As a pet project I also setup http://www.nextsuperstock.net and I am basically running an experiment there featuring press releases that I have received from penny stocks. I will post them at the site and then present on a monthly basis the best one.
So, once again, after about a 2-month period of indecision, my work is progressing finally. My objective had been to promote maxsimo.com using various methods that I tested here and learned from research online. Now I can execute that task again and proceed on building on the work that I have already done.
I have to be careful that I don't over-extend myself, once again. Back when I was building personal success I identified "trying to do too much" as one of the consistent problems in my life. I also identified it as a primary cause of my failures --trying to do too much in too little time. At this point I risk that condition once again, but after careful analysis I feel that I have the time to complete the tasks at hand.
The reason that I feel that way is because one of the primary causes of my wasted time was the 'offshore programming' that I had done. I didn't discuss this aspect of the work, but I spent hours and hours each week just communicating the same idea countless times. In the end I was frustrated -even exhausted. Now I feel that I am the one responsible for all the work. I know that I have the right programs to get the work done. I also feel that my environment is well suited for my success. Finally.
It has taken a long time to get to this point. Why I didn't make some of the moves earlier --I don't know. Perhaps, I am a gluttons for punishment.
UPDATE: Saturday, 03-Sep-2005 11:51 PM
Another long day as I took some time to update http://www.businesscreditbuilding.com and a new project http://www.nextsuperstock.net
I have some time off next week so I thought I'd take this weekend to leave things at a good state before I pack the van.
I'll update you on all the sites and the new information that I am posting in them and the logic behind the moves in time. Now, I've got to go! Sam out.
