DAY # 477 : The BEST of Maxsimo.NET UPDATE: As an aviation enthusiast I made a statement to the President of Plexum Software (Nicplex Inc) last January that I regret and last week that statement came to haunt me again. The President of Nicplex that makes Plexum Software that crashed on us several times last year is from Nigeria. I knew that going in, but coming from the midwest, having grown up in Columbus Ohio's immigrant community, I wanted to give the guy a chance, which came back to haunt me. |

The statement that I made was that Plexum software is built and maintained very much like aviation services in Nigeria. Aviation services in Nigeria seem to be built "just to take off" and after that "who cares". Well, I regret that statement as last week another plane crashed on take off in Nigeria. What about us? Well, the way Nicplex (Plexum Software makers) handled our account in the first 90 days was a very revealing clue to how our relationship would go forward. However, since I am an optimistic person and think that all people learn from their mistakes I gave Nicplex and Plexum another chance. Boy, was that a mistake. It cost almost a year of the business. The problem with the software and with the culture in the aviation business in Nigeria is all the same -- It's a culture of WHO CARES and the problem with that is that once the TICKET IS PURCHASED there is NO GETTING OFF. With Plexum and Nicplex, the problem is that --once you buy the ticket it's like sitting on a roller coaster --There is no getting off UNLESS the business goes up in a bang! A poof! Then you're out of business and no need to worry about Plexum or Nicplex. In our case, I bailed out quickly. Backed up the data, which they refused to do, and setup again using software with a 27-year track record. All that work was not easy, but I can now sleep at night. I can now be proud to help our members and representatives build their own success using our tools, services and applications. Disaster averted.
