That mind set of a lot about focus, perseverance, going the extra step and many other "small things" in getting the job done. All of it in the end was about having the right character to make it.
That leads me to Sunday's discussions that's on my mind. I'll probably be back tomorrow night, but let me get these thoughts off my head now...
The idea I wanted to discuss is this: Success begets success. It's a simple idea that to be success, you have to be success. It's a "catch 20" or a chicken or egg "thing" --what comes first.
Well, just a few months ago I believe that a scientific team somewhere officially confirmed that the "egg" comes *before* the chicken. Great.
Thus, we're still at the same basic problem. Success before success.
But the problem here is how to get going. How to make that first step. How to get things going.
My answer to that is this: No time in history has it been easier to get any idea off the ground that it is now.
Consider just 20 years ago, when I was back in college, to start a business it was a rather expensive proposition. There was a lot of ground work, a lot of preparation --consider this: Just to present to people what your business did took a lot of time and money.
Now how would you do it? We'll try a web site? How much would it cost to present those ideas?
I think now the cost to start a business is down to about a dollar a week. In fact, there are thousands of companies online that will allow you to partner with them and use the traffic from your web site to earn money.
Now going back to getting "SUCCESS STARTED" -- the idea is to JUST START, with what ever that you have. Just your PC, and idea and perhaps a tool such as WORDPRESS to put those ideas into shape.
Now you ask: What about time? Well, how much time do you spend watching TV every week? Well, I do watch some TV, but usually when the television is on, I am here typing. I don't really care much about what on TV. Very rarely does it capture my full attention. I must say that unless it was for the History and Discovery Channels and some like CNBC with financial stuff, I wouldn't even tune in. Most of it is garbage.
So, IF you take the time spent in front of the box and one full day on the weekend, then you'll have about 20 hours per week to BUILD YOUR DREAM!
Didn't I start with the idea SUCCESS BEGETS SUCCESS? Yes, let me get to that... The idea here is to look at it this way -- WHAT is SUCCESS???
In my case, when I got started, I resolved that:
success is just starting.
Then I theorized that success is:
Just going.
Then I theorized that success is:
Doing everything to keep going.
Then I theorized that success is:
Learning from the mistakes and not repeating them, and just making sure that you keep going.
Get the picture? Progress led to success. More progress led to more success. Then a big jump led to more success. More progress. And before I knew it, I am at STEP 20.
What will I do for the next 11 STEPS?
More of the same.
Carpe Diem. Sam out.
Oh, an idea I forgot... How to keep going? I'll discuss that soon!
