Usually, a signup page will ask for the email address twice and have a simple script compare the first and second email address entry to verify that they are the same. If they are the same, odds are pretty good that the e-mail address is correct. Otherwise, the system pop's up a message that says "Incorrect E-mail Address" and the user can check and correct.
In the case of Wildfire network marketing software, there was no such feature. And when I asked for it, I was told that they had "No time to look into it." Of course, I now know why --they were all too busy fixing the whole mess that did not work. The problem was that I was stuck with it and I am pretty sure that they are going to keep my $10,000 payment. Well, I've advised them that this will just create a few hundred pages of content and I'll get my money back that way. I cannot help it IF that process will cost Wildfire around $200,000 to $250,000 in lost business. That is not my problem. I followed the directions and in the end I was treated like... (I'll leave out the rather derogatory term).
Now to discuss the logic of the NEW Software:
On the new network marketing representative management software that I am considering, the signup pages and the process itself is completely controlled by the system owner. The system that creates the duplicated web site that our representatives will use to advertise are simple cloned (duplicated) over and over. What we need to do is focus on the content and how the pages function --as well as the signup process which is completely governed by the pages WE build. The way Wildfire network marketing (MLM) software was written we had to adjust to their signup process, which was rather crude.
Furthermore, Wildfire's setup was done will on the local side. The problem was the web interface and the email interface. And in the latter case, the system which manages groups of email never worked.
Lastly there customer services, to use a non-business term, "sucked" and I knew I'd made a BIG MISTAKE. Well, big mistakes are better corrected when there are very few or little use of the software. Hoping and praying that the relationship WILL WORK down the road was not the way to go.
Anyway, enough about what did not work. Today I am busy testing a new shopping cart that seems to handle just about everything that we have. Furthermore, it has a very nice feature that allows the management of it off line locally. Then with a push-of-a-button the program updates the online store. I am going to setup all of it today and I'll talk more about it later.
The second part of it is the representative management program as well. I hope to setup all of it today. Then on Monday the online part of it will be installed by the programmer. The cost of it is $4995.00 and it's worth every dollar as it takes care of 100% of the management of the Representatives. Of course, I also said that about Wildfire. Well, actually, the office part of it was good. As I said the Internet parts of it were not.
NOW to MY POST 40 SOMETHING ERA:
I didn't talk much about it yesterday as it was a very busy day getting things tested and fixed. My "post 40 era" will be all about investing. I will spend less and less time on Internet projects, because I will find staff to manage them. I will focus more and more on the investment and venture capital aspects of the network that I've built.
Of course, a lot more will be written about this in the coming months and years. But for now, I've got to get back to work and the new setup. Carpe Diem. Sam.
