DAY # 516: Best Investment for Financial Success

UPDATE:
Saturday, 09-Dec-2006 9:04 PM

This is Sunday's daily update that I've started today. What I have done is to take the update from Day 511 and expand it while taking a new look at the article.

When I started the article it was about 11 rules to build network. Now I am making a change to that to do the following: Write one good article about how a small, home based business can be used to build life-long financial success.

The discussion will be heavily about Maxsimo.NET.

Below is what I wrote a few days ago:

------------------ BUILDING NETWORTH:
Best Investment: HOME

While starting out as a 20 or 30 something, the first and foremost investment is your own home. Not only will you be avoiding the funds paid to a landlord on a monthly basis, but you'll start to add to your own equity from the first year.

1. Best ROI in a home --old bath, then a kitchen. Look for homes where these can be updates at a low cost.

2. Refinance only when a point can be shaved.

3. Put either 20% down or plan on paying a "13th month" -- OR do both. A 30-year mortgage will come down to about 12 years.

4. 30/40 -- keep your home expenses to 30% of income while keeping total debt to 40% of income.

This entire "SERIES" is planned as an update to maxsimo.org, and will take up a STEP on that site. However, there is a LOT more to this than one day's typing. I will take this up again later in the week.
------------------

So, let me start the article over with a new 'angle' to look at things...

UPDATE:
Sunday, 10-Dec-2006 8:50 PM

Yesterday I thought I could finish this today... However, after bicycle riding lessons, shopping and finally decorating a Christmas tree, I am exhausted.

Tomorrow lunch time I'll try again.

Sam out. Carpe Diem.
