DAY # 225
UPDATE: Saturday, 28-Jan-2006 10:27 PM
I might as well bring to the front the problem I have been having with KEY WORD LOCK. When I started with the idea a while back, the concept floated nicely in my mind and I could visualize people using it to generate traffic to their own sites.
However, when I put down the vary idea on the web site, it did not look so great.
I suppose the feeling is like having a beautiful Monet pictured in my mind and then sitting down to paint it, only to have some disastrous 7th grade art project show up.
This is not the first time that has happened, but I have been "playing with the possibilities" in my mind for weeks, and I cannot get one basic concept of KISS down -- Keep it Simple Stupid. It seems that all of my solutions to the puzzle so far have been very complicated and I don't like that one bit.
Complicated does not work --not in the real world, not online. Complicated kills a lot of visitors.
There was a study done in the last few weeks that said that visitors to a web site make up their mind about it in a matter of less that a second --A 'blink of an eye' was the term used. In that case, the idea of the KEY WORD LOCK has to be simple, elegant and a visitor has to "get it" in a matter of less than a second.
Any later than that, it's too late to make a point and that is my problems.
The easier one "gets" what's being done, the more POWER the idea has.
So, once again, with these challenges I call it a day and an early night --following Doctor's advice and get to bed. I hope I'll have a solution to the issue shortly.
I'd better. The issue is nagging me too much. The idea itself is a good one. However, the implementation of the KEY WORD LOCK concept has to be just as elegant and easy to understand. That is what I am stuck on.
As I said, I have tried countless variations and I will try even more until I get it right.
I will. Carpe Diem, Sam out.
