DAY # 245
UPDATE: Wednesday, 22-Feb-2006 10:01 AM
Just about 10 days ago I made what I thought was a small innovation in my work. I started to put a forward link at the bottom of the pages to the next days blog updated. Looking back, it has backfired. Here's what happened.
It seemed that googlebot visited the blog and then look at the latest page. Then at the bottom it followed what was essentially "tomorrows" page, which was basically an empty page I had put there as a place holder. The result was that the ads by Adsence on the sides were empty. Conclusion: I have to stop doing that, and go back to the way I was updating the site.
What I am speaking about is this line:
BACK to DAY 244 | TODAY is DAY 245 | NEXT is DAY 246
IF I link the "NEXT is DAY 246" to the actual page with no content Google's ROBOTS --programs that "spider" and catalog the site will visit and register that the page does not have any content. They will end up showing content for what I have there, which is:
"Text for the day will go here -- An update will come soon!" and that is not a good way to proceed. So, I'm going back to the old format. Update the content and then upload the page.
Maxsimo.NET WHAT WORKS REPORTS:
After working online for 10 years, and working on Maxsimo.NET for 6 years and focusing on it for the past several months I have gotten a good understanding regarding what works and what does not in advertising. In that chain of thoughts, I have worked on several articles for Maxsimo.NET's Revenue Check. Here are the main topics of those articles:
- Partnerships
- Free Content & Informational Products
- Advertising Networks
- Managed Ad Applications
- Focus
- What Works via E-Mail
I have a 'ton of writing' to complete on the reports so I'll head to that now. It's very early in the day, so, I am sure that I will be back later. Sam.
UPDATE: Wednesday, 22-Feb-2006 1:24 PM
Back from lunch, and I need to warm up my thoughts here... Another item that I looked over was the pricing that I have used for the membership. My intention was to keep the annual membership prices as low as I could afford at the start of the network.
However, in the coming months, my goal is to increase it first by $50.00 dollars and then a bit further to $100 with higher memberships. Here is how I plan to end up on the pricing:
Currently:
SILVER: Free
GOLD: $49.95 Annually
PLATINUM: $99.95
PROFESSIONAL: $199.95
ENTERPRISE: $299.95
and PARAGON: $399.95
When content is added to my comfort, which I think all items will be operational by the end of March --all reports updated and sites with applications operational, I plan to do the following:
NEXT UPDATE, CLOSE to SUMMER 06:
SILVER: Free
GOLD: $99.95 Annually
PLATINUM: $199.95 Annually
PROFESSIONAL: $299.95 Annually
ENTERPRISE: $399.95 Annually
and PARAGON: $499.95 Annually
All the above prices are for a one year membership. Additionally, the network will generate monthly commissions from all the Maxsimo Card members. We'll also add specialty products and services that generate additional commissions.
Overall, I feel very confident that the network can generate millions and millions of commissions that are distributed to the members.
All this is good to talk about, but at this time my focus remains on building the applications that will generate the commissions. I need to get that started before the end of the day as well.
OK, back to the reports. Carpe Diem, Sam out.
