UPDATE: Saturday, 04-Mar-2006 5:02 PM
Most of my days for the past weeks were spent making sure that the programming for maxsimo.com and biig.com were designed and then understood correctly. Often problems arise from misunderstandings and delays caused by such issues. I have spent a considerable time planning the network before asking anyone to start the programming and I hope all of the work pays off.
Anyway, looking at what has happened between November, when things got started slowly and now --basically 3 complete month later, I can summarize the following observations and also below that I will underline some mistakes that I have made.
First some of the observations:
--Very few of the IRs (independent representatives) who joined actually did anything to promote maxsimo.net. From my 15 years experience putting network marketing operations together, this is normal, but I think the adage, easy in easy out hold all too true in this case. I don't really plan to change anything about that. I will try to see what can be done to engage more and more of the people that signup for free.
--Of the few that are actually doing something to promote the network, their reliance on gimmick, often automated traffic generators, which don't work, may have given these people the impression that maxsimo.net cannot be promoted. That is far from the truth, but again, using the wrong tools to promote anything will end up in a quick disaster.
Some planning mistakes that I will remedy:
--The biggest mistake that I have made was to announce when our programming for maxsimo.com and biig.com were going to be done. As an optimist, I thought that it would get done by the end of February at the latest, but now it looks like BETA 1.0 will be ready by the end of this month. I hope that will be the case. I think everyone will be please when that is setup.
--One of the network marketing programs that I setup for a long distance marketing company back in the mid-90's fell apart when the CEO did not listen to my advice. At that time, I said that we need to setup a mechanism that paid large amount of commissions soon. I had forgotten my own message. The way I have setup maxsimo.net, it takes IRs a bit of time to get their commissions rolling.
My resolution to this is to create a bonus payment to the seller and a first-tier-bonus. For example, if the commissions allocated to a bonus is $50.00, then $35 would be paid as a bonus to the seller and another $15 would be paid to the seller's referral. What this will allow is the ability of IR's to quickly build their commission check.
For some of the other products the bonus can be increased to $100 (total) and then with each product that is introduced to the network I can see if the product allows for a bonus payment when a sale is made.
--The last issue that I have made a mistake is with updates. I have been so busy with advertising, marketing content and programming objectives, that I didn't update some of the content areas. My remedy for this is to hire someone to assist. I cannot do it all.
--As usual I trusted some of the people that I wanted to work with and I got burned. I wanted to "attack" these people via the web, but I decided against that. I just blamed myself. I need to be very careful who I get involved with as the ramifications of those decisions can effect a lot of people.
Conclusion of all this:
Work hard, plan for the long term. Catch up with all the tasks. Find additional help for the tasks that can be delegated. Need to find even more talented programmers. Sell, sell, sell... the network.
Lastly, fix the problems that I have addressed above. Hope you're having a good weekend. Carpe Diem, Sam out.
