DAY # 261 : Good things take time. I've got to keep going, and going... And make up for mistakes. UPDATE: Well it's not the most positive way to get my thoughts going, but it happens to be the truth. I have much too much to do and about a week ago I thought I'd have things done by this weekend. In fact, I wanted to intro maxsimo.com and biig.com yesterday to all the IRs. I was far too optimistic. Here is a list of things that I hope to have completed and I did not: The manual that I ended up calling "What Works" still have several parts that I need to finish. There are over 70 pages in all, and I am very happy with what is there. However, the pages that I have started with ideas need to be complete. Furthermore, I need to complete the sections on biig.com and maxsimo.com in the manual. In order to do that, I first need to finish the two sites. Then come the sites --biig.com and maxsimo.com. At biig.com I need to enable users to enter the site from the Member Area. At this time anyone can setup their |

account at biig.com. By making it possible to enter biig.com's admin areas for editors and members only from the main admin area at Maxsimo.NET I can finish the first version of biig.com. At maxsimo.com I need to complete the form that records information for new merchants. In the form merchants will be able to list their discount for the members by the type of offer, and by location. All this takes a lot of time and I seem to work like I have a team helping out with my tasks. Actually, the way I do all the work is that I do the first stage, and then hand it to the "team". By doing it that way I make make all the adjustments in the database and data input forms myself. I know for a fact that programmer "hate" changes once something gets going. By making adjustments myself, over time, I can do whatever I want until I feel that I am done. Of course, at some point I have to make sure that I call it "done" and not drag something along for eternity. I don't think I am at that point now. However, I better make sure to finish things ASAP! There are minor changes all over the place! I have made changes on this site, over and over, tweaking things to make it perfect. At one time I tested Ad Sense Ads side by side. After a few days I didn't like the clutter. Of course, I had ads running down the side and I changed that to the setup I mentioned above. The site ads are not that productive according to the reading that I have done. From my reading, the researchers say that ads that are at the top, looking like they are part of the text, in the 336 x 280 block size produce the best results over time. So, what I have done is to put two of those ad blocks on top of each other. The result is that there can be as many as 10 ads that are displayed based on the topic that I discuss for that day. As you may recall, a few days ago I decided to focus on one topic for the day. Well that is not that easy, but I am doing my best. Another day over. I didn't do much at all today, but I did do some planning. It's late. I've got to go. Carpe Diem, Sam out.
