What I got done: PHP, Member Area, BiiG.
The month got started with a list of things that I had to get done. Getting the writing done on them would round out the network and then I could focus on the writing while several programmers focused on the online applications. However, various things kept getting the items delayed. OR perhaps the things were done on time, but my expectations were not the best in that I wanted them earlier.
One of the brightest points was to convert from html to php on the blog pages. For a while I knew that time was coming, but I didn't want to jump into it. Then I just did it. And just like that the pages were in php. THen came the problem of converting all the pages to PHP, which I cannot do because so many of the pages are cross linked. Then I decided to not convert all the pages, but to do the changes for some and not others. At some point I'll go back and change all the blog pages to php and add content that makes it more of a CMS (content management system) type. But that is sometime much further on. The important part of all this is the writing and the research -not necessarily worrying if I have the right format or not.
I suppose as I write this the Member Area is just done on the local network and has not been updated. Sure that'll happen in hours now. Anyway, the Member area as originally put together was replaced by the more advanced membership applications area with all the tools. So, I minimized greatly the old membership area, making it only an area for downloads.
My goal in the updates was to clean up as much as I could the member areas. Clutter does not lend well to quick absorption of the ideas. By cleaning it up I think people will navigate and understand it much better.
Lastly, biig.com got launched with the version one up and going. I had worked on the idea for a long time, but I could not fully implement it. Now it is finally out there.
I have let several information management issues where the navigation is not perfect. I think that by the end of April those items can get done.
What's to be done: Maxsimo.com/org. and ROBObanner.
What is left has been a rather challenging data collection issue. The heart of the matter is maxsimo.com's data collection form from the merchants who are going to place an offer to the members. This form has to be perfect in its collection of information that will then get presented in various searches. Of course, the search will be enabled at maxsimo.com, but I also want to be able to search it from anywhere by using a robobanner. At biig.com the search will take place as well.
All this means that if the data is collected in the first place in an organized and logical manner, the search out put can be understood just as clearly. I suppose what has taken me time is to get things 'just right' so that my work is done, and a programmer can carry on where I've left off. If for some reason what I have done, does not make sense, then the programmer has too many issues and get 'bogged down in the work' and further delays occur.
WHEN DONE, MAXSIMO is THE PORTAL for DISCOUNT OFFER and ROBO*banner WILL TAKE THOSE OFFERS on the NET:
When operational I want anyone looking for a savings offer on a product or service around the world to come to maxsimo.com. They will do so because they see the window sticker with the "M" logo on the door or front window of stores and restaurants. They will do so because they see it online on shopping carts.
Additionally, they will see the logo where robobanner is featured by IR on their own web sites. All in all, it's all about exposure and when a significant amount of it is realized, the network will take on it's own growth curve. Hope that day is soon.
And I hope you'll have a good weekend. I'll be here with an update or two. Carpe Diem, Sam.
