merchants who will accept the card and what we'll need to know about them to help our members learn more about the merchant's products and services, to better enable search and in general provide a better product. I think the delay and the resulting improvement in the questions and overall setup are worth it. Anyway, I had planned on having all this done before the end of April, way back in October, and I am sure that deadline will be met.
SOME THOUGHTS on SALES and MARKETING:
As most people would testify the majority of the thinking flows like this --"I don't like to sell!". Well, that is the normal line of thinking. But I contend that most of us are selling something all the time. If we don't like to sell then we would do many of the things that we normally do. Now, you'll need to understand that I am taking the word "sell" in a very broad context at this point.
Let me make this example: I like to dress well even when I am working from home. Why? It just makes me feel good. And when I just step out, I am ready for the day. Otherwise, it would not be a problem to say "nothing matters" and just look like I walked out of a cave yesterday. However, the problem with that is everyone around me at work and home would reject me. That would not feel good. Hence, I prepare for acceptance, and I suppose it always makes me feel good, as I said. But, essentially, this is 'selling' oneself. Not much like sitting at an interview and 'wanting' to get hired for the job. Or meeting someone new and 'wanting' to ask someone for that first date. We all seek acceptance and that is essentially sales.
The problem with all this is that people just *hate* and I say this "absolutely hate* rejection. This is something that most people cannot accept and often cannot even comprehend facing. I suppose this is only second to public speaking on the "fear factor" scale. In my case, I don't think of it like that at all and here's why.
In the case of Maxsimo.NET over 20 years, countless thousands of dollars of research and testing and basic business principles that have proven true and very successful time after time. I have no problem presenting such ideas to anyone. I suppose it is also a challenge to make sure that others also understand and see things my way. But that should not be a problem.
A PRICELESS BENEFIT: FEEDBACK
There is another reason why doing this is *vital*: ONLY by doing this will I get to know the problems and concerns of fell Members, Representatives and Merchants. Sure there are feedback areas in the network, but only via one on one communication will I get to know the issues that I have to deal with. And the sooner I deal with them, the less of a problem they will be at a later point.
So, I am looking forward to all the communication, all the emails and perhaps, a few phone calls to those who join in the coming weeks and month thru my own personal sales efforts.
