That too is a bit inaccurate, as the river that flows down travels several times horizontally while making it down. There are about 3 major falls in all and they all make up the Kimmler Falls. What impressed me was the cleanliness of the surounding area with about 400,000 visitors coming to the site every year. It was almost as clean as a Disneyland theme park!
At the top of the trek I sat down to a cold drink --not a beer in this case because I still had to make it back down. While taking the break I noticed that the owner had traveled in the States. I spotted a Las Vegas postcard that he had sent back. I started talking to him about it. Later on I got an idea: Why not have a list of "far out of the places" that display the "M" logo from the Maxsimo Card?
I then asked him one question: Would you like to get more customers coming up here? YES! That was the answer I got back. I gave my business card and got his and said that I'll send back something that I'd like you to put on the lodge and take a picture.
My proposal was going to be this: He puts up the "M" logo and makes this offer to our members. I know that most of the members will not be able to go to the spot. The climb on the very nicely kept walk way up the 500+ meters (yards) to the top of the falls was not an easy one. Many of the benches along the way were litered with casualties that were ready to turn back at any moment. However, at the top the owner said that he can pick up most guests in his van and drive them back so that they can walk around must of the valley above the falls that was relatively flat and leasurly for about 33% less than what the office rate was at the bottom ticket office.
So, my suggestion to the lodges' owner is to give our members via our discount card that special "deal". I am going to offer the owner a free account for a year so that he can use our system to test the idea and see how things work. Of course, I'll make sure that everyone that I know going that way knows about the offer to make sure that he gets more visitors that way.
Anyway, these are the types of businesses that could not afford to advertise in the typical manner --pay per click, yellow pages, and a host of other very expensive mediums --that can use our system to generate more customers.
And I think there are about 10 MILLION other places around the world that can do the same using our network and tools to get the job done, while giving our members a better "deal".
The hike, then watching the kids feeding the animals at the farm next to our small hotel and then swimming has warn me out. I have manage today's post and catching up on the financial and world events. That's enough for one day!
Carpe DIem, Sam.
