However, the idea that on DAY ONE that I stop with a failure didn't sit well with me. So, I immediately went to the regular hosting setup and created the site. It didn't look anything like this although the idea was there. Now I have installed about 20 copies of it for testing, and will shortly install yet another for the P31.COM BLOG.

Strange you ask? Isn't this the blog? Yes, it is, but WORD PRESS enable some things that would take LOTS of TIME and AGREVATION if I wanted to do it on my own.

For example, I'd like to have a comment area after each post. I would like to add each post to a RSS feed. I would like to have better links and PERMALINKS. I would like to have RSS Feed Aggregators PING my blog and get the latest info. Etc. Etc.

What is COOL about WORDPRESS is that there are literally thousands of THEMES that change the "look 'n feel" of one's site. You can just go to your THEME directory in the hosting account and put one theme in, replacing what was there, and "puff" --just like that a new look 'n feel is published with your original data. ONE WORD of CAUTION: Before you go out and do this, please back up the OLD FILES and OLD DB FILES. IF something goes wrong or Mr. Murphy (As in Murphy's Law Demon) show his ugly face you're covered.

Another cool aspect of WORD PRESS is that no matter what you want to do with it, in the publishing arena, someone most likely has thought about it and created it. Usually, this is offered for FREE and you can use it to your hearts content in all the sites that you have. For those of you who are taking advantage of my ADSENSE WHITE PAPERS, keep in mind that there is an ADSENSE plugin that features Google ads on every WORDPRESS site that you have. So, these little programs that do "side jobs" are called "plugins" and are a very powerful way to expand the functionality of WORDPRESS.

So, this is why I choose WORD PRESS. Oh, yes. I didn't mention how easy it is to install. It takes about 5 min. IF you don't pay attention. IF you focus on it and nothing else, I bet less than 2min. Anyway, try doing 10 of them back to back. I did this and it was not a problem. There is just one file to edit and the one db to setup in MySQL. The rest is done by the program and you'll be off flying and publishing.

LET ME NOW DO an INSTALL of WORD PRESS:

STEP ONE:
First of all, decide where. You can put it on a domain by uploading the files to your /httpdocs/ or /public_html/ folder in your hosting account. In my case however, I have a bunch of files in that, so, I have to create a sub folder to do the job. Now, you need to think about who you'll attract when you do that and the type of content that will be in the blog BEFORE you name this folder.

What will be my content for this site? All my writing is about personal success, business success and financial success. However, I have talked very little about the financial success. That will start this August or September. Anyway, it's something about "success", but the word alone is not something that is nice for the search engines. What I need is a phrase that reflects what I will write about. Business Success? NO. Online Success? May be. Personal Success? Perhaps.

I'll now go to the Overture KEY WORD Inventory site here >> and search "success" and see what comes up. I found out that "success" is hardly searched. Then "online success" still not much. Now "make money" but that does not inspire me. Too dry. Let me keep going...I thought of "retire early" but I plan on working 'til I drop. So that cannot be it. How about "business opportunity" - that could be it, being searched about 400,000 times a month, just on this engine. OK, I am going to go with it... I think that will be the core of my discussion going forth, so, I'll stick to that directory.

Then I'll need to create http://www.p31.com/business_opportunity/ and upload the files to it. NOTE -- Please use the 'official' install directions. I am just thinking out loud below...

STEP TWO:
After uploading the files, I'll follow the 5-minute install directions you'll see under WORD PRESS "installation". Really, that's all it takes.

STEP THREE:
Well, I uploaded all by the 'WP-CONFIG-SAMLE.PHP" file. I will now create my MYSQL Database and User. Done.

STEP FOUR:
I'll now update the "wp-config" file and upload it. The dbname and user info have to be saved. Upload. WORD PRESS has a lot of files! However, now uploaded and I am ready to bring up the INSTALL file. Follow the WORDPRESS directions and bring up your install file.

STEP FIVE:
When you bring up the above file, you'll see FIRST STEP>> and you know you've done the installation well. Otherwise, check your info in the CONFIG file. You made a mistake, most likely there. I don't see where else, to tell the truth.

STEP SIX:
Give your blog a title, which I called it... what you see here >> You can call it what you want. This can be changed anytime from the WORD PRESS admin. You'll next get a receipt of the install and user info.

You're ready to BLOG and learn all about WORD PRESS! I'll now proceed to the system that can update several of these blogs with one command console.
