3> I got rid of all the VIRUS and FIREWALL stuff from Microsoft. Yes, it's gone! I am sticking with PCDOCTOR programs to maintain VIRUS and protect against MALware.

Guess what happened next? PC is running fine. All intruders are cleaned. It's shutting down quickly and starts/run very fast.

LONG TERM SOLUTION:

I am planning to use multiple PCs for different task sets. I'll use one pc for entertainment and games. One pc for work at home. One pc for storage and back up --that is all done by a linux server.

The bottom line is that by optimizing each pc for an individual task, the entire setup works much better. Furthermore, I plan to stop downloading and installing any software that I haven't tested on a stand-alone machine.

All this then leads to a peach of mind from having computers that run without problems. Perhaps, like my wife I should get a MAC! Well, that's just another Linux box for all I care. I've had to work on it too to help her clean out files and back up things.

Anyway, what else to do for fun while working? Ok, back to it. Sam out. Carpe Diem.
