DAY # 431 : Best Results After Rest UPDATE: Last night I spent about two hours working on a home network problem only to sleep around midnight without success. One of the rules that I have been bound by is a fifteen-year-old idea that I sleep only after a problem was resolved. Well, after so many years I need to put that to rest.

After working for two hours on it, and not getting to the solution I went to sleep. After a good seven hours of sleep, I was on 'pancake duty' --my usual Saturday routine. However, this AM the kids were not awake so I was back at the computer. After about 15 minutes of work I had the problem resolved. I think it's time to discard my rule and put rest and a good nights sleep as the way to resolve a lot of problems at work and at home. I'll have to remind myself of this often because it's very easy to slip beyond a 10PM work routine and before I know it, it's around 1AM -- it happens all the time.
