DAY #436 : Wrapping Up My End of Things UPDATE: Getting my share of the work done required some learning of Linux and Windows Server 2003. Then I had to learn about the workings of a small business network. Now I have to focus on the security of that network. In the past 10 months a lot has gotten done, and now it's only going to get busier! And I have to prepare for it, before it overwhelms me! |

ANOTHER CHECK LIST for that WORK: In this case a good mental check list of what I have to get done... Just then I got an audio warning that all email was in and I looked at another check list from an Associate. He tells me that his check list is good and now I have many parts of mine done. So, that leaves me with the original items -- Security, updates and promotions to do. About Security -- Well, I cannot mention much, other than I am working on it with the "boxes" (servers) that are under my control. There are 3 dedicated servers at this time under my control. One is a linux box taking care of our publishing system. The others are a mailing list boxes running windows server 2003 and the representative management system. About Update -- All the tools, services and applications are getting continuous updates. That is the only way to keep making the products better so that we can keep ahead of the needs of the network. Everything from the START PAGE (http://www.biig.net >> ) to the portal at biig.com (http://www.biig.com >> ) are getting updated. We're mostly done with version 2.0 -- Soon version 3.0 will begin. Promotional Update -- As I said before, there are many advertising networks and when you signup as a rep to promote them, the second or the third item on their promotional list is to use Google, Yahoo or MSN to get new customers. Why does an advertising network need other ad tools to get new customers? At maxsimo.NET I am using the built in tools to build the network. PERIOD. That's all there is to it. I will do some outside advertising to test the effectiveness of the new referrals system, but that is it! Ok, a bunch of things to get done. Sam out. Carpe Diem.
