My favorite is a California Aquarium that is powered during the day by solar and at night by the stored hydrogen.
I think hydrogen is the perfect storage medium for power produced during the day. All one has to do is setup a electrolysis system to produce the hydrogen and then store it in a tank or two.
If you search the following phrase on any major search engine you'll see what I am talking about. The phrase is "Humboldt Univ Aquarium Solar Hydrogen Power" and the links lead you to an experiment at the Humboldt University in California, where an aquarium has been powered for more than 10 years using such a system.
My goal is to setup an exact system, that is just about fully automated to manage the needs of the dream home, a Bread 'n Breakfast concept and farm. This is for my retirement. I grew up on a very small farm-like atmosphere, and being around such a place makes me the happiest.
This type of environment will also allow me to 'tinker' with leading-edge technology such as cell producing hydrogen and other equipment. It will also give me a chance to interact with my kids working with real-life projects that have pretty good worldwide applications. I look forward to it! Carpe Diem, Sam.

I wrote the above back in December, and now I've discovered that other Entreprenurs have built what I was searching for --In this case a complete hydrogen powered house. In this case, the house in New Jersey (US) is even "unplugged" from the electric grid!
Their organizations web site is here >> Just a peek into the future...
