PROJECT NOTE: Monday, 05-Dec-2005 11:30 PM I have nearly reached 200 days of sharing thoughts and covered 12th and the 13th STEPS as I write this. Now I am faced with a problem: The dilema is this... I have stared a program, a network on the Internet that works with people all around the world to build a few special products -a Global Discount Card, a new Search Directory, BiiG.COM and ROBO*banner, in a new format from what I had put together in 1998. The most important part of this program (network) is that people worldwide, people from all walks of life, people with all types of aspirations have *trusted* me to deliver on the products that I have promised. I don't mind if someone said to me "you'll never complete this", "ya I looked at P31.com --what were you thinking? It's a sad idea" Nope, I'd just shrug my sholders and walk away. However, the trust that people have put on me to deliver what they need to work with, what they need to build their own businesses and what they need to succeed in life --that is what dreams are made of. That's very special, and for me to focus my time here, for me to spend more than the 5 minutes that took to write this, just to 'window dress" and look better in your eyes, would make a dis-service to their rightful expectations. So, sorry, if this is a mess. Sorry, if this is an incomplete area that just looks bad. Sorry, if I've wasted your time. Sorry. I've got to build a paragon -many are counting on it. I've go to go! STEP 02: My Progress...
----------
Original Commentary from Page ONE:
You
may feel silly holding a penny (or whatever coin
you have in your hand) but that's not the point
here.
Can it be done?
What will you learn from it?
How long will it take?
As a person will I be better from it?

& 131 Marketing Tips to Make Your 31-STEP Plan a Success!
At this point a lot has been done in just a two days. I hope to continue the progress.
Next: I need to execute the plan to build the first few STEPS, which I have decided can be done by cleaning my home of all the coins that have collected in various places.
So, I am off to collect all the dollar and euro coins that I can. Side note: when the euro was introduced I could never get the coins straight. Consequently, while on vacation and living in Europe I managed to collect a lot of coins.
Better put then to some use.
Some thoughts: Now is a good time to start with a notebook with all the ideas, plans and notes (research) that I will amass in the coming weeks, months and years.

After collecting change and thinking about the process, I have made two decisions:
1. I haven't left room for failure.
2. I need to expand the process in order to succeed.
ABOUT #2:
Created the idea of having 5 Attempts with a reason for each attempt.
Attempt ONE: For Educational Needs
Attempt TWO: For Health & Welfare Needs
Attempt THREE: For Social & Vacation Needs
Attempt FOUR: For Family & Home Needs
Attempt FIVE: 31-STEPS to the Finish
At this time, at each attempt, I have reached STEP 10. Now I have 21 more to go!
ABOUT #1:
In order to address failure, I am setting up an "EXIT CASH" strategy.
My plan is to work on doubling ALL attempts, but if one starts to fail at a certain point, I'll exit, as best as I can, and take the cash.
About ATTEMPT ONE: EDUCATION
GOAL: STEP 23 or about $42k
To get to about step 23 and build enough money for an MBA or similar type of online education. Any funds left over will be shifted to my children's educational funds.
GIFT: A salt water aquarium.
About
ATTEMPT TWO: HEALTH & WELFARE
GOAL: STEP 24 or about $85k
My plan here is to have funds set aside for health care, insurance and general items that provide a "soft landing" when strange things happen in life.
I'll also add all items that help build better health. Even a membership to a club, equipment, etc.
With "EXIT CASH" my aim is to "take the cash" at one attempt at this point.
GIFT: A ROLEX watch. The real thing...
About
ATTEMPT THREE: Social & VACATION NEEDS
GOAL: Get to STEP 25 or about $168k
This will cover all of my hobbies, equipment and a summer vacation, fall and spring mini-breaks and a winter vacation.
I love to travel, ski, sail, etc. and these funds will provide the funding for such needs.
GIFT: New Computer and monitor
About ATTEMPT FOUR: FAMILY and SOCIAL NEEDS
GOAL: Reach STEP 26 or about $336k
At this point I'll explore a must if you are in your 30's as I am. Home ownership. In my case, I am already there, but it does not hurt to expand into a rental or some other type of income generating property.
I'll discuss more in depth when I get there.
GIFT: New Car Lease
About ATTEMPT FIVE: All the way to STEP 31
GOAL: Reach STEP 31 and above USD$10M in a reasonable time.
This is the process and the way to get there is by doing what others have done over and over throughout history: INVEST.
GIFT: Donate funds to my college, Ohio State University, and a few other charitable things I always wanted to do. Material things are good, but as you succeed, you'll find out that "materials of many sorts" really don't add up to much as time with your family, friends and being able to make a difference.
Hope at this point (TIME WISE) that I'll achieve a good balance in life, regardless of whether I got to all the goals or not.
UPDATE: Thursday, 14-Apr-2005 10:56 AM
There is one more item that I would like to add to this goal. Since freshmen year, high school, for four years, I had read several magazines cover to cover. Most of of the reading was about technology. Some of it was about homes. Ever since then it has been a dream of mine to build the dream home. At this point I will start the building. The plans have been in my mind for over 10 years, the sketches and ideas fill up a scrap book. The library shelf has one row dedicated to it. Around STEP 27 or so, I'll work on the model and then pass it on to an Architect. That is the plan!
I may even make a special section here to list products, services and ideas that make up a dream home. We'll see...
STEP 32: Go Sailing!
As for your objectives:
The variables such as which STEP, how much and when are all adjustable based on your needs, location and expectations.
I can tell you that most people lose a lot of money investing because of GREED. And a lot of people never do much because they never try or they don't start.
Hope you're not in any of these categories.
STEPS 1 to 20 are good just for planning on the basic needs that you should learn and practice to do well.
NOW a WORD ABOUT EXCELLENCE:
I mentioned this earlier, because the time and energy needed in this process will also help me practice "EXCELLENCE".
This is one of the most important skills of the successful, and each day I strive for it *REGARDLESS* of what I am doing. It's not easy. I've made a lot of mistakes, but every time, I try to do what it takes to further excellence.
You also need to think about this: When you can practice excellence in what you do (it does not matter *what* you are doing OR what type of job you are doing), then it is relatively easy to transfer that philosophy to many other aspects of your life, including investing or a 31 Step Financial Success Plan.
This I hope you understand and adopt. It will help you better discipline your thoughts and actions later when the money builds. Excellence will even help you over come the greed that tries to take over you at some point.
31 STEPS may take years! So, there's plenty of time to practice!
Let's move on... . .
Now to my 131 TIPS to Help Make Your 31-STEP Plan a Success:
TIP 006. Don't try to create a market.
Find an existing market. If you can't describe to
me in one paragraph who your prospects are, then
you are going to have a horrible time trying to
sell your products online. Tap into a market that
is already looking for your product.
TIP 007. Testing is the Key to all Marketing Success.
One ad may work 10 times better than another very similiar ad for the exact same product. You must always test headlines, offers, guarantees, and traffic generating methods. The most successful marketers are not always the smartest. They are the ones who have tested the most methods without quitting.
TIP 008. The purpose of all of your advertising should be to produce sales.
A small business cannot afford to spend millions of
dollars trying to create name brands with their web
site. For example, your banners should be tested
to make sure that every penny you spend in advertising
produces a profit in sales.
TIP 009. Even free advertising costs you something.
Every bit of advertising you do costs you something, either money or time. Make sure that it is producing for you. Nothing you do is literally free. It will cost your business significantly less in the long run to buy a $500.00 program if it helps you to accomplish your goals in 1/10 the time.
TIP 010. Every aspect of your site and marketing should be focused on presenting your UWP to your customers.
Everything you do should focus on your Unique Web
Positioning Strategy: signature files, headlines, order
forms, free reports, ads, etc. Your customers should
always know exactly what makes you different from your competitors.
